Not so nice!

Just a reminder that we are not alone! As above so below! This new flash is inspired from stories from both of the cultures I come from. I hope this can inspire more connections. One major inspiration comes from the Detroit duo Drexciya their house music was based on a concept of enslaved African mothers who were thrown overboard during the middle passage giving birth underwater: “The Drexciyans trace their lineage back to the pregnant African women – considered by their captors to be sick or disruptive – who were thrown off slave ships to drown. Baby Drexciyans swam from their mothers’ wombs, never needing to breathe air, and gave rise to a subaqueous empire.Somewhere in the dark, vast abyss of the Atlantic Ocean, deep beneath the waves, lies a civilization. For centuries the Drexciyans have lived in peaceful isolation on the seabed, occupying their bubble metropolis, unaware of the land-based realm their ancestors were forced to leave behind. In 2017, the Drexciyan mythos inspired the actor and rapper Daveed Diggs – famous for his role in the musical Hamilton – to write a song with his hip-hop group Clipping called The Deep, which described a Drexciyan uprising against greedy humans firing seismic air cannons into the ocean in the hunt for oil”. The other side of inspiration comes from Nordic lore about the Wild Hunt: “(Åsgårdsreien) in Norse mythology is a terrifying, spectral procession led by Odin (the “Allfather”) that rides through the winter skies, a chaotic horde of gods, spirits, the dead, and supernatural beings, foretelling disaster, war, or plague. It swept through the forests in midwinter, the coldest, darkest part of the year, when ferocious winds and storms howled over the land. Anyone who found him-or herself out of doors at night during this time might spot this ghostly procession”. The connection between these two tales feels very real right now. There are also Indigenous stories from these lands that were stolen that are all signs pointing to the reckoning/prophecy that is coming from our spiritual counterparts.
